Colorado ranks seventh in internet spending
Colorado placed seventh in the nation for internet spending, with the state spending over $2.2 billion per year on internet access.
According to a study by digital marketing platform DesignRush, the average Colorado household spends $1,123 on internet each year.
The study analyzed data from the US Bureau of Economic Analysis to determine each state’s internet access expenditure.
Rounding out the top five were Washington, Kansas, Texas, Alaska, and Utah.
Polis criticizes Biden for pardoning son Hunter
Gov. Jared Polis took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize President Joe Biden’s pardoning of his son Hunter, who was set to be sentenced for federal gun and tax evasion charges later this month.
Biden had previously stated he would not pardon his son, but explained his beliefs that the charges against his son were “a miscarriage of justice” “infected” by politics.
“While as a father I certainly understand President @JoeBiden’s natural desire to help his son by pardoning him, I am disappointed that he put his family ahead of the country,” Polis wrote. “This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation. When you become President, your role is Pater familias of the nation. Hunter brought the legal trouble he faced on himself, and one can sympathize with his struggles while also acknowledging that no one is above the law, not a President and not a President’s son.”
DOTI expands on-demand ride share program to West Denver
The Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) has launched its free, on-demand ride share service, the Denver Connector in the Western Denver neighborhoods of Villa Park, Sun Valley, Westwood, Athmar Park, Ruby Hill and Valverde.
The Denver Connector service was first introduced in the Montbello neighborhood in 2021, with subsequent expansions to the Gateway, Globeville, and Elyria-Swansea neighborhoods. To date, the Connector has provided rides to about 250,000 passengers.
Residents who live in the established service areas can request a ride through the Denver Connector mobile app or by calling 720-905-4438. The service is available Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
