An adult man who was shot in a grocery store parking lot in Woodland Park Friday night has died,  Woodland Park Police reported early Saturday morning.

In a Facebook post, the Woodland Park Police Department said the shooting was still an active investigation and did not provide additional details.

The shooting at City Market in the small mountain town’s downtown hub occurred about 5:30 p.m. Friday.

“The suspect is on scene and being detained,” police said in a post a few hours after the shooting occurred.

A City Market employee posted Friday night that all employees were safe and unharmed.
