Man arrested a 3rd time for allegedly trespassing in Colorado Springs impound lot

A man found allegedly trespassing inside a Colorado Springs Police Department impound lot was arrested and is now facing several charges on top of prior warrants.

Officers with the Homeless Outreach Team noticed the man around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. According to an online blotter entry, several vehicles have been burglarized in the impound lot since October.

As officers continued to observe, the man allegedly entered an RV stored within the fenced lot and took several items. When police attempted to make contact, the man ran away from the officers.

He ran toward the Greenway Trail before being apprehended . After being identified as 51-year-old Paul Williams, he was transported to the El Paso County jail, where he was booked for several unrelated warrants.

Williams is facing new charges of first-degree criminal trespass, obstructing a peace officer and second-degree criminal trespass. Prior to Tuesday’s arrest, he had been arrested in March and April for trespassing in the same lot, police said.
