The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a house fire near Palmer Park Monday afternoon.

The house was located in the 3900 block of Wesley Drive, which is near Palmer Park.

Crews reported that there was a fire in the kitchen.

According to a Fire Department spokesperson on the scene, six dogs lived at the residence and five of them died . The homeowner was displaced, but uninjured.
