The Monument Police Department has reported that one person has died due to a hit-and-run incident in the 700 block of West Baptist Road, to the east of the Struthers Road intersection.

Officers responded to the scene and found one woman dead just before noon on Monday, according to Gazette news partner KOAA.

The sheriff’s office told KOAA the suspect is an adult man who was driving a dark-colored Chrysler minivan with a light-colored metal trim horizontal stripe down the side. KOAA reports that the woman was in the passenger seat of the vehicle.

According to officials, the vehicle did not have a front license plate and had stock silver rims with damage to the front passenger bumper and the side. Officials told KOAA there may have been a white handicap placard on the front rear-view mirror.
