Here’s when Colorado ski resorts are opening this season
Thanks to a generous storm over Colorado’s southwest mountains, Wolf Creek Ski Area took the honor of kicking off the state’s ski season in October. Others would have to wait for the generosity to spread — for the kind of snow that dumped over the high country ahead of the weekend.
Here’s a look at the opening dates that were and those scheduled to come:
Wolf Creek: Oct. 22
Arapahoe Basin, Keystone: Nov. 2
Eldora: Nov. 7
Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Winter Park: Nov. 8
Loveland, Purgatory: Nov. 9
Monarch: As soon as possible
Vail: Nov. 15
Purgatory: Nov. 16
Powderhorn: Nov. 22
Steamboat: Nov. 23
Beaver Creek, Crested Butte: Nov. 27
Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Telluride, Granby Ranch: Nov. 28
Howelsen Hill: Nov. 30
Ski Cooper: Dec. 11
Buttermilk, Highlands: Dec. 14
Echo Mountain, Sunlight: As soon as possible in December
