A Fountain man who was found guilty of sexually assaulting his biological granddaughters has been sentenced to 44 years to life in the Colorado Department of Corrections.

Carl Ray Jordan, 76, of Fountain, was arrested Nov. 9, 2023, after an investigation by the Fountain Police Department received allegations that he had sexually assaulted four of his grandchildren years ago, when they ranged in age from 4 years old up to 15 years old, according to his arrest warrant.

The initial call came from one of the granddaughters, now 24, who said Jordan had sexually assaulted her during a family sleepover at his Fountain residence when she was 6 .

Jordan’s trial in July ended with him being convicted on three counts of sexual assault on a child in a position of trust and three counts of aggravated incest.

He was sentenced Friday.

Jordan had been employed as a janitor for the Griffith Centers for Children Chins Up in Colorado Springs for several years at the time of his arrest. Police said investigators never discovered evidence of Jordan abusing anyone in connection with his employment, or abusing anyone outside of his own family members.
