Boos, bugs, pumpkins and more: Halloween events happening around the Pikes Peak region this fall
October is for lovers. Halloween lovers, that is.
Activities abound for those who love a creepy crawly, spooky story or simply the sight of a perfectly plump pumpkin:
• Halloween Booo With the Bugs: Don’t fret, none of the tropical insects you see at the John May Museum Center will creep and crawl over your skin. They’re dead and displayed so you can see just what it is that might walk over you in the middle of the night. The event also features face painting, candy and more, 4-8 p.m. Oct. 31, 710 Rock Creek Canyon Road, $11-$12, $2 off if you wear a costume; 719-576-0450, coloradospringsbugmuseum.com.

• Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo: The zoo’s annual October event features trick-or-treat stations, haunted house, spooky graveyard, pirate’s cove, pumpkin patch, sky ride, carousel, giraffe and budgie feeding, 4-8:30 p.m. , Oct. 31, 4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Road, $19.75-$24.75, 75 cents for 2 and younger, $3 per person for Sky Ride; cmzoo.org/boo.
• Spooky Movie on the Lawn: Red Leg Brewing Co. will show spooky movies outdoors every Wednesday through October beginning at 7:30 p.m., 2323 Garden of the Gods Road, free; 719-598-3776, redlegbrewing.com/events.
