A pedestrian was seriously injured and a driver was arrested after a crash in Colorado Springs on Sunday, according to law enforcement officials.

Gwyn Gustafson faces charges of driving under the influence and vehicular assault, police said.

Officers responded to a 10:15 p.m. call about a crash involving a pedestrian on West Cimarron Street near the U.S. 24 frontage road. The involved pedestrian, whose name was not released, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

Gustafson, who had remained at the scene, was evaluated and taken into custody.
