The first-ever flag football postseason is here and The Classical Academy, as it has been all season, has rose above its competition.

In the 20-team, 4A playoff bracket, the Titans earned the No. 1 seed in the single-elimination tournament that begins with the first round on Tuesday.

The top 12 seeds will receive a first-round bye while the remaining eight seeds will compete for spots in the second round.

Pikes Peak region teams included in this year’s postseason are: TCA, Vista Ridge, Doherty, Air Academy, Ellicott and Colorado Springs Christian School.

Per CHSAA, second round and quarterfinal games will take place Oct. 26 at neutral sites with the 4A games at North Area Athletic Complex Soccer Field and Football Field in Denver.

For 5A, games will take place at Jeffco Stadium and Trailblazer Stadium, also located in Denver.

The Titans (13-2) finished 8-0 in league play and outscored their opponents 481-108 this season. TCA started the year on a nine-game winning streak before losing to Valor Christian 27-20 on Sept. 24.

Titans quarterback Kelsey Peterson finished the regular season 236 for 400 passing with 2,627 yards, 40 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.

Peterson’s passing yardage is first in 4A and seventh in the state while her passing touchdowns are second in 4A and eighth in Colorado.

Vista Ridge, the No. 3 seed in 4A, will also receive a bye after a dominant year on the gridiron.

The Wolves (11-4) allowed just 92 points in 15 games, never allowed more than 20 in a contest and shut out six opponents.

Vista Ridge rushed for 1,512 yards and Brooklyn Kaiser led the charge with 626 yards on 46 carries and had five of the Wolves’ eight rushing touchdowns.

5A

Second round: No. 7 Doherty (11-2) vs. No. 10 Douglas County (9-5), 9 a.m. at Jeffco Stadium.

4A

First-round bye: No. 1 TCA, will play the winner of No. 16 Denver North vs. No. 17 Ellicott.

No. 3 Vista Ridge, will play the winner of No. 14 Manual vs. No. 19 Littleton; No. 8 Air Academy.

First round: No. 16 Denver North (8-7) vs. No. 17 Ellicott (5-7), 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Denver North; No. 13 Highlands Ranch (4-10) vs. No. 20 Colorado Springs Christian (3-10), Tuesday, time and location TBD.

Second round: No. 8 Air Academy (7-5) vs. No. 9 Denver West (10-5), 9 a.m. Saturday at North Area Athletic Complex Football Field.
