Police have made an arrest in the early morning shooting that left one dead on May 23 on South Nevada Avenue.
Just after 6 a.m., Colorado Springs police responded to a shooting call for service near the southbound off-ramp from Interstate 25. Once officers got to the scene, they found a male, later identified as 45-year-old Darryl Scurry Jr., with at least one gunshot wound. Scurry was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
On Oct. 10, an arrest warrant was issued for 22-year-old Vonrobert Kennedy for the murder of Scurry. Kennedy was charged while he was being held in the El Paso County Jail on unrelated charges.

Kennedy remains in custody as of Thursday afternoon with bonds totaling over $1 million. He is set to appear in court on Monday morning for a first appearance.
