Three people were arrested Thursday after Colorado Springs police said they attempted to rob Scheels located on the far north side of the city.

The three entered the store shortly before 7 p.m. in the 1200 block of Interquest Parkway, where a Metro Retail Pawn Metal officer happened to be. The officer checked the vehicle they arrived in and found that it was stolen while a store employee noticed one of them was carrying a handgun, according to an online police blotter entry.

Additional officers were called to the scene and two of the suspects began to flee. One exited the store and tossed a handgun as he ran from police. He was shocked with a Taser after resisting arrest and taken into custody with no injuries, police said.

Another suspect fled into the men’s restroom, discarding a handgun in a trash bin while the third suspect attempted to purchase $2,500 worth of merchandise with a stolen credit card.

Additional stolen property and drugs were located in the stolen vehicle and the three suspects are being investigated for connections to recent cases of stolen and burglarized vehicles.

Andrew McGee, 36, Erin Roybal, 39, and Denise Rohrbaugh, 34, were all booked into the El Paso County jail and face multiple charges.
