1 dead, 1 severely injured in separate motorcycle-involved crashes: Colorado Springs police
A skateboarder sustained life-threatening injuries in a Sunday crash with a motorcycle.
One person is dead and another is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following two separate weekend crashes, each involving motorcycles, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
At about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to an emergency call about a crash near the U.S. 24 frontage road and West Cimarron Street, where they learned that the collision involved a vehicle and a motorcycle.
First responders provided on-scene aid to the severely injured motorcyclist before transporting them to a hospital. While still at the scene, officers learned that the rider died, police said.
Alcohol and excessive speed “are being considered” as possible factors in the crash, according to a blotter entry. No arrests were announced.
At about 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, CSPD responded to calls about a crash between a motorcycle and a person operating a single-wheel electronic skateboard.
That crash occurred near the intersection of North Tejon Street and Platte Avenue, police said. The skateboarder was taken to a hospital and treated for life-threatening injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time, officials said.
