Juvenile arrested in connection to smash-and-grabs in Colorado Springs
One juvenile was taken into custody on several charges following the execution of a search warrant related to a recent pattern of smash-and-grabs at gun and vape shops.
On Thursday, Colorado Springs Police Department investigators from the metro burglary unit conducted a search warrant in the 1400 block of Tamarisk Drive.
The juvenile, who’s name was not released, was arrested for offenses including burglary, criminal mischief and motor vehicle theft.
The investigation into the pattern is ongoing, according to law enforcement.
Colorado Springs has seen a significant number of smash-and-grabs in 2024, totaling over 40, according to Gazette records. The most recent one occurred early Tuesday morning at a local vape shop.
