Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top cancel Colorado Springs show

Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top have canceled their Saturday concert at Ford Amphitheater, citing a family medical emergency.

The amphitheater announced the cancellation Wednesday evening, writing in a Facebook post that Lynyrd Skynyrd lead vocalist Johnny Van Zant’s daughter had a sudden emergency illness.

“He has left the tour to be with her while they continue testing, diagnosis and treatment,” the statement read.

Several other performances have also been called off, including shows in Loveland and Albuquerque, N.M.

Refunds are available at the point of purchase, according to the Facebook post.

The next show scheduled at the new Ford Amphitheater, on the north side of Colorado Springs, is the Steve Miller Band on Friday night, with Taylor Scott as the opener.
