8 arrested, 6 vehicles recovered in multi-agency investigation: Colorado Springs police
Several stolen vehicles were recovered and eight individuals arrested after a multi-agency investigation in the Colorado Springs area, police said Tuesday.
No names were released, but the arrested individuals are facing a variety of felony and misdemeanor charges for alleged motor vehicle theft and drug-related offenses, police said in an online blotter entry.
A Beat Auto Theft Through Law Enforcement (BATTLE) team consisting of officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department, Colorado State Parole, and Colorado State Patrol conducted an operation in Colorado Springs and El Paso County.
Six stolen vehicles were recovered, according to police.
One of the arrestees was a “targeted prolific offender” and another was a convicted felon who had just been released from prison two days earlier, police said. The recently released offender was found in possession of a stolen vehicle, a handgun and a felony-level amount of narcotics, police said. Other suspects had active arrest warrants.
