A man was hospitalized late Friday night after being struck by a car on north Powers Boulevard, Colorado Springs police said.

Around 9 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic accident involving a vehicle and pedestrian near Powers and Palmer Park Boulevard, where they found a man who had sustained major injuries.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital.

An investigation is ongoing and neither speed nor alcohol are factors in the collision, according to CSPD.
