A Pueblo man is facing multiple murder and weapons charges, stemming from his alleged involvement in a shooting in Falcon in 2023 that left two juveniles dead and four others injured.

Kevin Jquan Alivin Patterson, who turned 18 this week, now stands accused as an adult in the Feb. 5, 2023, crime in the 12200 block of Point Reyes Drive in the Falcon area of El Paso County.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office announced that it had arrested two juvenile suspects for the crime in July 2023.

A jail booking report for Patterson this week led The Gazette to seek out related court documents, publicly revealing his identity as the murder suspect, and that he is being tried as an adult.

It was not immediately clear whether the second juvenile arrested in 2023 would also be tried as an adult.

The 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office filed a total of 50 felony counts against Patterson on July 27, 2023. Those charges include first-degree murder for the deaths of Javier Lopez and Caleb Ray Nickerson, as well as 15 counts of attempted first-degree murder.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said the joint investigation into the shooting included help from the Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado Spring Police Department, Fountain Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Wichita, (Kan.) Police Department and Crime Stoppers.

Patterson’s next court appearance is a review hearing on Oct. 3.
