One male has been arrested following a brief stand-off early Monday morning. 

Just before 7 a.m., officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Stetson Hills division were dispatched to the 3600 block of Haven Circle near Village Green Park for a suspicious/wanted person call for service.

Upon arrival, information was provided to officers that the suspicious person was inside the residence behind a locked bedroom door. The man, later identified as 24-year-old Joseph Friend, was initially unable to be contacted. 

Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence, and then entered the residence. While completing the search warrant, Friend exited out of the bedroom window and went onto the roof of the residence.

Police say they made multiple attempts to get him to vacate the roof.

Friend did not initially comply, according to police. Members from the department’s Tactical Enforcement Unit responded to assist and after additional efforts were made, Friend complied and was taken into custody on his outstanding arrest warrant.

No officers or other citizens were injured during the incident, police say.
