2 separate deadly crashes cause delays on I-25 near Colorado Springs, U.S. 50 near Pueblo
Two fatal vehicle crashes – one involving a juvenile pedestrian – caused traffic delays on Colorado roadways early Monday, according to the State Patrol.
At 4:36 a.m., the State Patrol received a call about a collision on Interstate 25 between a motorcycle and a Ford F-350 pickup truck with an attached trailer. The collision, which took place in the southbound lanes north of Monument, was the second deadly crash involving a motorcycle in as many days.
At about 5:30 a.m., a semi-truck heading west on U.S. 50, east of Pueblo, hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road, according to Trooper Sherri Mendez. The pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was confirmed to be a juvenile, Mendez said.
Both highways had lanes closures while investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses, officials said.
