1 dead, 1 injured following multi-vehicle crash on I-25 near Fountain
One motorist was killed and another was injured following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 near Fountain early Sunday, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The crash took place near mile marker 123 in the southbound lanes of the interstate at about 4:30 a.m., officials said. Details were few on Sunday afternoon, but Trooper Gabriel Moltrer said multiple vehicles were involved in the incident. One motorist was dead at the scene. A second person, whose condition was not released, was taken to a hospital.
The southbound lanes of I-25 were closed for more than five hours as investigators collected evidence. The interstate reopened just after 10 a.m.
