The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a working structure fire near Springs Rescue Mission that has closed roads Friday afternoon at approximately 2:25.

Crews are on scene at the fire, which is located at 59 W Las Vegas. The department asks the community to please avoid the area to allow crews to work.

As of 2:35, the department posted that the fire is under control and all of Las Vegas is blocked west of Nevada.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire small and from extended to other apartments nearby. The department reports that all occupants are being let back into their homes except those in the affected apartment.

Fire investigators are working to determine cause and origin.
