Bines & Brews returns to Limbach Park Sept. 21
As the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce continues to throw events to bring members of the community together, its annual tasting experience happens this month.
The chamber’s annual Bines & Brews Beer Fest and Libations event happens 1-5 p.m., Sept. 21 at Limbach Park in Monument. Cost for the event is $25 which includes a souvenir tasting glass and unlimited tastings, as well as free water and soda. Food vendors for the event include Texas Roadhouse, Dickey’s BBQ and Flaming Hibachi.
The festival is a tasting experience and features creations from 15 breweries, two distilleries, one cidery, one winery and one meadery. It is described as an upscale event with live jazz music and free water to help attendees “space” their tastings and remain hydrated.
“It is a really nice low-key upscaled beer fest where people come to try new products and in some cases, talk to the brewers,” Chamber president and chief executive officer Terri Hayes said.
The music for this year’s festival is provided by The Jeff Sutton Jazz Band. Originally from Louisiana, trumpet player and composer Jeff Sutton has brought his eclectic New Orleans history of jazz and other styles to Colorado Springs.
No persons under the age of 21 years will be allowed into the event, even if he or she serves as a designated driver. Designated drivers gain entrance to the festival for $10. No dogs are allowed as well.
There is a limit of 400 tickets to the event, and those who get advanced tickets won’t have to wait in line for entry. Advanced tickets are available on the chamber’s website at www.trilakeschamber.org and clicking the “events” menu tab.
The event also serves as a fundraiser for not only the chamber and its economic development in the community, it also benefits the TriLakes Silver Alliance, which supports seniors in the community with a variety of programs.
“We do a couple community events each year so that the events we are doing benefit the general public, not just our businesses,” he said. “Yes, it’s a fundraiser, but it benefits the community too.”
