A portion of South Academy Boulevard will close overnight beginning Monday to continue work on the bridge deck overlay as part of the Military Access, Mobility & Safety Improvement Project.

According to from the Colorado Department of Transportation, beginning Monday night, portions of east and westbound South Academy Boulevard. under Interstate 25 as part of the bridge reconstruction project.

A full closure of eastbound and westbound South Academy Boulevard will go into effect between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. through Thursday.

Traffic will be rerouted on northbound I-25 to the South Academy Boulevard ramps during this time, officials said.

According to CDOT, multiple detours will be in place during the three-day closure.

For motorists traveling eastbound on South Academy, drivers will be redirected to southbound I-25 to Colorado 16, where they will be turned around to then reenter I-25 north to South Academy Boulevard.

For motorists traveling westbound on South Academy, drivers will be redirected north on I-25 to Exit 138, where they will be turned around to then reenter I-25 south to South Academy Boulevard.

For motorists traveling northbound on I-25, drivers will take Exit 135 off-ramp to reenter the on-ramp to continue along the roadway.
