7 Colorado local dining options offered at the Ford Amphitheater

Having a tasty meal and refreshing drink are all part of a well-rounded concert experience. For concertgoers at the new Ford Amphitheater, the food and drink selection spans past the typical hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels and beer.

According to Ford Amphitheater spokesperson Chloe Hoeft, the food truck concessions offered at the newly opened venue on Colorado Springs’ north side were handpicked by venue staff to reflect the favorite flavors of the Colorado Springs community.

“We handpicked a diverse array of local vendors, curated to match the unique tastes and desires of our music fans. Each choice was made with a focus on delivering both variety and consistency, ensuring an unforgettable experience,” Hoeft said.

Following the amphitheater’s second weekend catering to the music masses, Hoeft said the Wyly Coyote Concessions’ funnel cakes and the prickly pear and vodka lemonade handcrafted cocktails have been a few of the fan favorites.

As the third weekend into the Ford Amphitheater’s debut in Colorado Springs approaches, here’s a list of local food offerings and drinks available throughout the new concert space.

Johnny Boy Eatz

Local location: Colorado based, corporate catering and individual orders

Price Range: $9-$11

Bringing his food through corporate catering and individual orders in the past, the Ford Amphitheater is home to the first in-person location of Johnny Boy Eatz.

After gracing the streets of Denver with his food cart since 2023, owner Johnny Rivera-Hernandez says he’s switched his business to working the Amphitheater full time, making thousands of empanadas a week.

The Puerto Rican cuisine food tent, located on the venue’s north side, offers a variety of empanadas for $8 each, or a basket of the Cajun-inspired Boudin Ball Bites for $11 — a deep-fried rice ball holding melty mozzarella cheese onion and sausage.

He says in the second weekend, he had over 20 people waiting outside of his tent ahead of opening for the night.

“I’m not a big food truck, and you have to walk around a bit to find me (inside the amphitheater), I’m not right when you walk in. Seeing the positive reaction to my food through word of mouth and seeing people’s reactions when they take their first bites, it’s priceless,” Rivera-Hernandez said.

For more information, you can visit Johnny Boy Eatz’ page on Instagram, @johnnyboyeatz.
