Cyclist found deceased in Colorado Springs creek
A cyclist was found deceased in a creek in Colorado Springs on Tuesday morning.
Just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center received two 911 calls regarding a person found in Douglas Creek along the Sinton Trail.
The good Samaritans who made the 911 calls were on their bikes passing through when they noticed the cyclist in the creek with a bike nearby.
The two individuals attempted to remove the cyclist from the creek, but the fire department and medical personnel determined they were deceased upon their arrival.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office responded to conduct their its investigation. At this time, police do not believe any foul play is involved. However, if the autopsy reveals anything out of the ordinary, an investigation will be pursued.
Law enforcement wants to remind the community that riding bicycles, e-bikes, skateboards and scooters comes with inherent risk. Helmets are encouraged for everyone.
