A report of a shooting in the 600 block of South Santa Fe Avenue early Tuesday left one man with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The initial address given by dispatch over the scanner gave an initial location of the call for service from the 7-Eleven at the end of the block.

The Fountain Police Department reports that officers found the injured man on the scene, and had him taken to a local hospital.

Through preliminary investigation, Fountain detectives say an argument between possible acquaintances turned into a shooting.

Just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the department identified a person and vehicle of interest tied to the shooting investigation.

According to the police department’s social media posts, investigators are searching for a man with black facial hair and eyeglasses, wearing jeans, a black shirt, a baseball hat and sneakers.

The second person of interest identified is a man wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Additionally, the department has identified a black Dodge pickup truck as a vehicle of interest in the investigation.

Police say this appears to be an isolated incident, with no current danger to the public. Officers remain in the area to investigate, but no road or business closures are reported.
