Day 16 of Denver Broncos training camp: Packers joint practice concludes fan portion

ENGLEWOOD — A behind-the-scenes look at Broncos training camp practice Friday with observations and analysis from The Denver Gazette.

Play of the day

Inside linebacker Alex Singleton picked off Packers quarterback Jordan Love in a team period and it led to a very brief scuffle. Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto pressured Love on the play and hit his arm upon release, leading to the easy Singleton interception. Packers teammates took exception to Bonitto’s physicality and players required separation.

QB watch

The rotation went as expected. 1. Bo Nix. 2. Jarrett Stidham. 3. Zach Wilson. Nix and Stidham were especially sharp in the final team periods, moving their respective offenses into scoring range. Stidham hit wide receiver Courtland Sutton in the end zone, and he celebrated by dunking the football over the crossbar. Nix threw multiple red zone touchdowns. Wilson also completed several impressive throws.

Stock rising

S JL Skinner. The second-year pro nearly intercepted Packers quarterback Sean Clifford. Skinner also recorded a field goal block. But he was ruled offside. It’s been a strong camp for Skinner.

Stock falling

Offensive line. The Broncos have struggled to keep defenders out of the backfield for most of training camp. It’s a concern right now. Let’s see if anything changes in the regular season.

Attendance check

Wide receiver Devaughn Vele (leg) was held out as a precaution, coach Sean Payton said, with the possibility he will play Sunday.

Injury report

Cornerbacks Art Green (concussion) and Levi Wallace (hamstring) did not practice.

What’s next

The Broncos face the Packers on Sunday night in a preseason game at Empower Field. Fans are no longer permitted at practice.
