‘Off-limits’ list for military in Colorado Springs: 7 bars and nightclubs included

Several nightclubs and entertainment locations around Colorado Springs are included in the recent ban prohibiting local uniformed military members from visiting various places of business.

The Citadel mall is on the list, although visits related to education or religion are allowed. Service members also can be at the Armed Services Career Center inside the mall for recruiting purposes.

Here is the off-limits list:

Bars:

  • Club La Casota, 430 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs.
  • Knucklehead Tavern, 3627 Delta Drive, Colorado Springs.Blondie’s, 24 N. Tejon St., Colorado Springs.Nova Nightclub, 18 S Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs.La Palapa, 525 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs.Latin Quarters, 3958 N. Academy Blvd. #112, Colorado Springs.El Huracan Night Club, 2330 S. Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs.

Massage parlor:

  • Sugar Tree Massage, 1807 B St., Colorado Springs.

Adult entertainment:

  • Pleasures Adult Entertainment Center, 3425 E. Platte Ave., Colorado Springs.
    • Adult store, 3.9 stars on Google reviews

Shopping center:

  • The Citadel, 750 Citadel Drive, Colorado Springs.
    • Military members are exempt from this prohibition if entrance is required for any education, religious or military recruiting-related activities.

After-hours club:

  • La Tarazza, 609 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs.

Employment:

A board consisting of representatives from Fort Carson, Evans Army Community Hospital, Peterson Space Force Base, Schriever Space Force Base and the Air Force Academy decided on the bans, which apply to all soldiers, airmen, sailors, guardians and other service members based at the five installations in the Pikes Peak region. Read more here.

Councilwoman Nancy Henjum will host a community conversation about the mall from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 20 at Zeal Church.
