Colorado Springs weather: Hot end to July brings heat advisory warning to the region

Highs are anticipated to remain in the 90s and potentially triple digits Wednesday in Colorado Springs bringing a hot final day of July to the Pikes Peak region.
“Our latest heat wave will bring another round of HOT temperatures to Southern Colorado on this final day of July,” meteorologist Alan Rose with Gazette news partner KOAA said.
“Highs today will soar into the 90s and 100s on the plains, with 70s and 80s on tap for our mountains and mountain valleys.”

Expect sunny skies and a high of 96 degrees. A heat advisory has been issued and remains in effect until 7 p.m.
Looking ahead to Wednesday night, mostly clear skies and a low of 61 degrees are in the forecast.
According to Rose, temps will slightly cool Thursday and the wet weather is anticipated to return to the area. Smoke and haze from wildfires north of Colorado Springs are expected to roll through the area.
