The Rockies believe in Charlie Condon.

Colorado and Condon, the No. 3 pick in the MLB draft, agreed on a $9.25 million signing bonus, ESPN reported Friday. It’s tied for the most lucrative draft bonus in MLB history, the report said.

Last season at Georgia, Condon became the third player in NCAA history to lead college baseball in home runs (37) and batting average (.433). He earned the Golden Spikes Award as the national player of the year.

Condon is the third position player taken by the Rockies with a top-10 draft pick, following Troy Tulowitzki and Todd Helton.

“We see him as a face-of-the-franchise type player,” said Marc Gustafson, the team’s senior director of scouting operations.

Condon’s signing bonus matched that of No. 2 pick Chase Burns, who also agreed to a $9.25 million bonus, according to reports. Both broke the previous record held by former Air Force star Paul Skenes, who signed for $9 million.
