The woman who was found last month with a teenager she falsely claimed was her son has been identified, according to Colorado Springs police.

Jean Thomas, 35, is facing charges including child abuse of the 14-year-old, who she gave a false identity to, police said Tuesday.

The teen was a reported runaway from Denver who was missing since December 2023. He has since been reunited with his family.

Thomas was arrested June 6 near a drainage ditch south of the 600 block of West Garden of the Gods Road after they found her with narcotics and evidence of financial crimes involving seven victims, police said.

Thomas also faces charges of criminal possession of a financial device, misdemeanor drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
