Rock-wielding burglary suspect assaults arresting officer: Colorado Springs police
A woman accused of breaking into a Colorado Springs residence with a rock and assaulting a police officer may have been under the influence of drugs, law enforcement officials said.
Ravynn Walker, who was hospitalized after her arrest, faces burglary and assault charges upon her release, police said.
At about 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1900 block of West Colorado Avenue. When they arrived, they found Walker — who was holding a large rock — and an unidentified victim.
Walker is alleged to have thrown a rock through a building’s window and followed the victim into the building while wielding another rock.
As Walker was being disarmed and arrested, she allegedly kicked one of the officers. The officer was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released, officials said.
Walker, who is believed to have ingested glass in addition to narcotics, was also taken to the hospital. Her condition was not released.
