Pedestrian killed in crash in east Colorado Springs Sunday night
One person is dead after a collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian in east Colorado Springs on Sunday, according to law enforcement officials.
The crash took place just after 10 p.m. near the intersection of Palmer Park and Powers boulevards, police said. Responding medical personnel found a pedestrian dead at the scene.
Initial investigation suggests that the pedestrian was crossing Powers in the crosswalk, but that the northbound motorcyclist had a green light, when the collision occurred.
The names of the motorcyclist and the pedestrian have not yet been released. No arrests were announced.
At least six people have died on Colorado Springs area roads since Memorial Day weekend, which marks the beginning of what traffic officials call the 100 Deadliest Days.
