One person died in a motorcycle crash Sunday along southbound Interstate 25 near the Mesa Ridge Parkway exit, according to Colorado State Patrol.

The crash was reported at 7:20 p.m., according to Gazette news partner KOAA. Troopers say a motorcycle rider was killed in the wreck, and that the bike was the only vehicle involved.

The off ramp and right lane of I-25 remained closed for over an hour while troopers investigated.

The interstate was reopened just after 9:30 p.m.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Cody Ray by his family.

A GoFundMe has been started in Ray’s honor to assist the family in paying for a funeral and memorial service.

“His whole family is heartbroken and we want to thank you all for any support you can extend. He was a proud daddy to his sweet baby girl, Lilly, and amazing boys, Connor and Eli, who love and miss him terribly and sadly must now grow up without their Dad,” organizer Kristy Ray wrote on the page. “I am very grateful for every donation during this difficult time and please keep our family in your prayers.”
