Rainbow Valley Ranch stocks lakes for fishing season
The fish were biting May 28 at Silver Spruce Lakes in Divide.
That’s to be expected since nearly 600 pounds of 16-20 inch rainbow trout had been brought in as Rainbow Valley Ranch Fishing Club & Guest Resort officially kicked off the start of their fishing season.
It was the first time in 4 years that the Silver Spruce Lakes have been stocked, and experienced anglers, families, and curious locals came out to participate in the fun.
The stocking process lasted approximately four hours, as Aqua Sierra Fisheries Consultants carefully matched the temperatures of the lakes to that of the water in the transport tanks. The trout were then released, where they joined the lakes’ existing population of of brooks, browns, cutthroats, minnows, and other rainbow trout.
Owned by Tanner Coy, Rainbow Valley Ranch Fishing Club & Guest Resort is located at 7534 County Rd 62 in Divide south of Mueller State Park on Hwy 67 near the Dome Rock State Wildlife Area and affords a range of catch-and-release fishing opportunities from the property’s seven lakes and two winding creeks. The fishing lodge and guest cabins are also available to rent for both extended fishing trips and private events. Fishing club memberships for individuals and families may be purchased at RVFC.co or by calling 719-351-4030.
