Residents can pick up free Air Force Academy graduation tickets starting on Wednesday in Monument and Colorado Springs.

Tickets for the May 30 commencement are available at the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce at 166 2nd St. in Monument. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Colorado Springs Visitor Center at 515 S. Cascade Ave. also has tickets that can be picked up. The center run by VisitCOS is open daily 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Vice President Kamala Harris will give the keynote speech at graduation.

As vice president, Harris is part of the regular rotation of speakers for the academy, which graduates about 1,000 cadets each year. This is her first time speaking to the Air Force Academy graduating class.

The president, secretary of defense and secretary of the Air Force are also part of the rotation as keynote speakers at the Academy.

Last year President Joe Biden gave the address highlighting global conflict, including Russia’s war in Ukraine and the rise of new war-fighting challenges, such as artificial intelligence.
