Colorado Springs weather: Sunny and warm Monday, chance of afternoon showers
Colorado Springs residents should expect sunny and mild conditions on Monday morning, then partly cloudy skies and a chance of rain in the afternoon, according to Gazette news partner KOAA.
“After a wild weekend of weather, where Mother Nature threw everything that she could at Colorado, our work week will be begin on a more mellow note,” KOAA 5 Meteorologist Alan Rose said.
“Skies will be bright and sunny this morning before turning partly to mostly cloudy this afternoon. With recycled moisture in place, we’re expecting to see some scattered showers and thunderstorms in the mountains this afternoon, with a few of these storms likely to reach the I-25 corridor.”
Any afternoon showers outside the mountains should be fairly brief, Rose said. The high temperature is expected to approach 70 degrees.
Parts of Teller County will see clear, sunny conditions after a snowy weekend, according to NWS.
“Teller County had a wide range of snow totals, from 5″ in Woodland Park, to about 16″ in Divide,” said Meteorologist Jacklyn Ehr. “As usual, the snow totals were greater in the higher elevations.”
Woodland Park Re-23 and Cripple Creek-Victor school districts announced 2-hour delays on Monday.
