Colorado Springs weather: Sunny, breezy Friday, temperature swings through weekend
Colorado Springs residents will have a sunny and breezy Friday before weekend temperatures fluctuate between the 60s and 70s, according to Gazette news partner KOAA.
“Friday will be about 10 degrees warmer in Colorado Springs to the low 70s,” KOAA 5 Meteorologist Alex O’Brien said. “There will be sunshine initially, with breezy south winds at 10-15 mph. Then a cold front will move through in the evening, turning winds out of the north and bringing a chance of thunderstorms.”
East of Interstate 25, afternoon thunderstorms could become severe, O’Brien said.
“Saturday will be back to the low 60s after Friday evening’s cold front brings in cooler air. There is a chance of an isolated thunderstorm for the I-25 corridor on Saturday evening, with a better chance of showers in the mountains and mountain valleys.”
