Colorado Springs residents should expect warm, dry conditions on Tuesday ahead of a cold front that could bring showers later in the week, according to Gazette news partner KOAA.

Tuesday is expected to be sunny with a high of about 72 degrees and wind speeds of 5-15 mph.

“The final day of April will be a warm and breezy one for southern Colorado,” Meteorologist Alan Rose said.

The Interstate 25 corridor will see wind gusts of 25-35 mph, while the San Luis Valley could get gusts of up to 50 mph, Rose said. A red flag warning will be in effect for the San Luis Valley 1-7 p.m.

“Avoid activities that could start a fire on any and all red flag warning days,” Rose said.

Wednesday: A 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. South wind 10 to 15 mph.

Thursday: A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 59. North wind around 15 mph becoming east-northeast in the afternoon. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph.

Saturday: A 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Sunny, with a high near 64. North-northwest wind around 15 mph becoming south-southeast in the afternoon.
