See the cast of “The Cher Show” turn back time as they showcase the journey of Cher throughout the decades.

The Pikes Peak Center is hosting “The Cher Show” three nights this week, featuring 35 of Cher’s hits to tell the story of the “Goddess of Pop.”

The show begins with Babe, a young Cher on her rise to fame. From there, Lady takes over, representing Cher when she and Sonny go to Vegas to start their comedy hour.

“We see that Cher a little nervous in front of a crowd, she was quite shy in the beginning,” said Catherine Ariale, who plays Lady. “Lady is definitely a more confident and poised version of herself. When she leans into the comedy, the wit, she’s really quick and has so much stature and grace about her. This is kind of when she learns who she is.”

Representing Cher in her glam pop era during the 1970s, Lady also goes through the hardships of marriage with Sonny Bono and learns how to stand up for herself.

“We see the love and the tension between her and Sonny, mainly in their show business together, but also it’s a marital struggle,” Ariale said. “They’re bickering a bit more, he’s overworking her a lot and we find out that he owns the whole company and she owns none of that and that’s a huge turning point for her.”

Faced with the decision to stay or leave, Cher’s three selves, including her final self, Star, meet before concluding Act I, performing “A Song for the Lonely” together.

“She owns nothing and she’s at this crossroads and she’s so overwhelmed and frustrated and angry with her life and with Sonny,” Ariale said. “This is when Babe and Star come in and the three of us connect on stage and it’s so simple. We’re just wearing these matching black jumpsuits. It’s so stripped down and we just charge to the front of stage and sing ‘A Song for the Lonely’ together and it’s really beautiful and just feels really empowering.”

“I can’t tell you how many people have come to the show saying they didn’t go in with any expectations, had no clue what they were signing up for, and have left blown away with how much they didn’t know about Cher,” Ariale said. “It’s moving. There’s hit after hit after hit, fun fact after fun fact that you didn’t know about her. And whether or not you come in as a Cher fan, you will 100% leave as a Cher fan.”
