2 critically injured in crash on northbound I-25: Colorado Springs police

Two people were hospitalized with critical injuries and parts of Interstate 25 were closed for several hours after a vehicle plowed through a guardrail, hit a retaining wall and crashed near an off-ramp late Wednesday, Colorado Springs police said in an online blotter entry.

The crash happened at about 10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the interstate, near the Rockrimmon Boulevard/Nevada Avenue exit, police said.

Investigators were working to determine what may have caused the crash. The names of the injured motorists were not released, and no arrests were announced.

Two lanes of I-25 were shut down until about 4:40 a.m. Thursday, police said.
