Chamonix Casino Hotel in Cripple Creek welcomes 980 Prime Steakhouse
Visitors to Cripple Creek will have a new, high-end dining option with the opening Saturday of 980 Prime Steakhouse at Chamonix Casino Hotel.
Chamonix, whose slogan is “European elegance meets Colorado comfort,” opened in late December, though with some amenities to come — including 980 Prime. The steakhouse is led by chef Barry Dakake and restauranteur Yassine Lyoubi, who are known for owning and operating Barry’s Downtown Prime restaurant in Las Vegas.
The 300-room hotel and casino plans to open its rooftop pool within weeks, according to a release this week, and expects to open its salon and full-service spa early this summer.
“Chamonix was designed to be the most beautiful casino in the state of Colorado, and we look forward to the completion of all of its amenities over the next few months,” Dan Lee, president and CEO of Full House Resorts, which owns Chamonix, said as part of the company’s fourth-quarter earnings report in early March.
Full House Resorts also owns the adjacent Bronco Billy’s Casino and Hotel. According to an article last year by Pat Hill in the Pikes Peak Courier, the seeds for 980 Prime were planted when Lee was a customer at Dakake’s Las Vegas restaurant and told the chef about the plans for Chamonix.
“We are thrilled to introduce 980 Prime Steakhouse as the crown jewel of Chamonix Casino Hotel,” Baxter Lee, general manager of Chamonix, said in the release.
“With its sophisticated ambiance, world-class cuisine and impeccable service, 980 Prime is poised to become the premier dining destination in Colorado.”
Hours at 980 Prime are 5-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, go to chamonixco.com/dining.
