Whataburger’s 7th area restaurant opens in Monument
A seventh local Whataburger will open at 11 a.m. Tuesday at 17889 Fat Tire Drive, southeast of Interstate 25 and Colorado 105 in Monument, north of Colorado Springs.
BurgerWorks Colorado, a franchisee for the Texas-based Whataburger chain, opened its first local restaurant in February 2022 on the Springs’ far north side.
The Monument Whataburger, developed on a nearly 2-acre site that’s bigger than most of its locations, will have a large outdoor dining area with a turf yard that can host events such as live music and community gatherings, according to a news release.
The location’s dining room will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and all day on Fridays and Saturdays; a breakfast menu will be available from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. The restaurant’s drive-thru will be open 24 hours a day.
In addition to dining room service, customers can order curbside or pickup service through the Whataburger app and online; delivery will be available through DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grub Hub.
Whataburger was founded in 1950 as a roadside hamburger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas. Now based in San Antonio, the chain has developed a loyal following over the years for its made-to-order burgers, chicken sandwiches, patty melts, fries, onion rings, salads, desserts, soft drinks, shakes and breakfast items, among other items.
