Colorado Springs weather: Mostly sunny, with light winds Tuesday

Colorado Springs residents can look forward to mild weather conditions on Tuesday, according to Gazette news partner KOAA.

“Mostly sunny skies are expected, with a high temperature of about 54 degrees,” Meteorologist Alan Rose said. “Other than an isolated snow shower on the summit of Pikes Peak today, our weather on Tuesday will be pretty nice,” adding that the region will see light winds throughout the day.

A weak clipper system to our north will send a cold front through the Plains early Wednesday morning.

“Behind the front, it will be breezy tomorrow, with 20-30 mph gusts for the Pikes Peak Region. A chance of snow showers will return to the mountains late tonight and Wednesday, with only a very small chance of a shower in Colorado Springs,” Rose said.

Dry air returns late this week, with highs going from the mid 60s on Thursday to the mid 70s on Friday.

“The 70s will stick around into the upcoming weekend. Along with the warmth will come a breezy to gusty forecast, with high fire danger threats ramping up as we head towards the weekend.”

Here is the rest of the forecast from the National Weather Service:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. North wind 10 to 15 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 57. West-northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon.
