Pine Creek enlists David Hedges as new football coach, replacing Todd Miller

At Pine Creek, one coach with a history of winning will replace another coach with a history of winning.

The Eagles announced, in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), that David Hedges will serve as their new football coach. Hedges replaces Todd Miller, who coached at Pine Creek for 19 seasons.

“We want to extend a very warm Eagle welcome to Coach and his lovely family,” Pine Creek athletic director Russ McKinstry said. “Congratulations to Coach Hedges, and he is extremely excited to take the reins of one of the premier high school football programs in Colorado.”

Hedges spent nine years as the offensive coordinator for Niceville High School in Florida.

He compiled a 52-8 record in Florida’s 7A classification in his final five seasons there. Hedges led Florida’s No. 1 scoring offense in 2020.

Hedges grew up in Colorado Springs, attending Sand Creek. He later played NCAA Division-I football at University of South Dakota.

The hire comes after Miller stepped down in February. Miller led the Eagles to four state championships, 15 league championships, and he left the program with a 192-40 record.
