The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a house fire in the southeast portion of the city.

Officials announced at 11:49 a.m. on social media that crews were working to extinguish a house fire at 1215 Sorrento Drive.

A CSFD spokesperson said that firefighters encountered dangerous “heavy hoarding conditions” inside the residence.

As of 12:16 p.m., officials said majority of the blaze had been knocked down.

As of just before 1:30 p.m., officials announced the homeowners’ dog had been rescued from the fire. Additionally, one person was treated for minor injuries on the scene.
