Colorado Springs and El Paso County administrative offices are closed due to inclement weather on Thursday.

Heavy, wet snowfall across the Pikes Peak region had covered some areas in more than a foot of snow by mid-morning.

County and city emergency responders and essential personnel are still reporting, officials with both jurisdictions said in separate news releases.

Mountain Metropolitan Transit bus service stopped at 10 a.m. Thursday, including all routes as well as both fixed-route and Metro Mobility service.

Colorado Springs closures include the following offices:

• City Administration Building

• City Clerk

• City Hall

• Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum Annex

• Deerfield Hills, Hillside and Meadows Park community centers

• Evergreen and Fairview cemeteries

• Memorial Park Recreation Center

• Municipal Court. People who are scheduled for court Thursday must report to the Municipal Court before 5 p.m. Monday to schedule a new court date.

• Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site

• Sales Tax Office

• Sertich Ice Center

El Paso County closures include the following offices:

• El Paso County Public Health

• El Paso County Department of Human Services

• El Paso County Clerk and Recorder

• El Paso County Assessor

• El Paso County Treasurer

• 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office

• CSU Extension

• Pikes Peak Workforce Center

The city of Fountain offices are also closed Thursday, Administrative Services Director John Trylch said. Those experiencing an emergency should call 911, he said.

Colorado Springs officials said city snow crews are continuing a full call-out of 51 snowplows for snow removal operations citywide. Crews are working to clear primary and secondary roadways.

Road conditions are slushy.

Officials encourage the community to stay home and monitor weather conditions.

Drivers who must be on the road should be cautious around working snowplows, allow plenty of room to pass, and maintain a safe distance as crews have limited visibility, city officials said.

Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management, El Paso County and Colorado Springs officials will provide local media updates on the winter weather response today at 1 p.m.
