Galentine’s Day: Celebrate with your gals at these events around Colorado Springs

Share the love this February with all the special women in your life in celebrating “Galentine’s Day.”

The holiday, popularized by the TV sitcom “Parks & Recreation,” which precedes Valentine’s Day celebrations on Feb. 14, is meant to show love to your gals: best friends, sisters, moms alike. While not an official holiday (just yet), there’s plenty of spots around the Springs celebrating!

Galentines Canvas & Cocktails at Bloom Ultra Lounge

Paint and sip with your girlfriends next Monday at Colorado Springs’ flower-themed bar, Bloom Ultra Lounge, No. 20, 114 N. Tejon St.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be an artist for this event — an instructor will take you step by step through the painting process. Included in the ticket is also a chocolate covered strawberry and a glass of bubbly. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at. Tickets, which include supplies and a 12-by-12 canvas, start at $50.

Galentines Day in the Park at Garden of the Gods

For the outdoor girlies, Garden of the Gods will be hosting two special sessions of “Galentine’s Day in the Park” — a 90-minute guided tour through the landmark.

Reservations are $25 per person, with all proceeds going to the Garden of the Gods Foundation, which helps maintain the beloved park.

Galentine’s Waffle & Mimosa Night at Good Neighbors Meeting House

Enjoy waffles and mimosas with your friends at this Galentine’s Day celebration.

The restaurant will be offering a variety of waffles for this special event, including a strawberry waffle with chocolate sauce and a rose-infused whipped cream. There will also be several unique mimosa options for the holiday, including a lavender lemonade mimosa. Nonalcoholic mimosas will also be available.

Crafts & Cocktails: Candle-making and Macramé Workshop at 1350 Distilling

Get crafty with friends on Wednesday at 1350 Distilling, 520 E. Pikes Peak Ave.

This event will be a casual, cozy evening of crafting, which includes making your own 4-ounce scented candle and creating a macramé heart that can be used as a coaster for your candle. Don’t fret if you don’t have experience’ guides will be taking participants through each process of the projects.

Galentine’s Coffee Candle-Making Class at Wayfinder Coffee Co.

Learn how to make a coffee-scented candle at Wayfinder Coffee Co. for Galentine’s Day.

This interactive, cozy candle-making class will give you everything needed to create a candle in your very own coffee mug, which can be cleaned and reused after you enjoy the candle. All supplies are included in the ticket, except the coffee mug — bring your own or purchase one for an additional $15.

Sip on a complimentary drink while building your candle and enjoy tapas. The event begins at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Wayfinder Coffee Co., 6140 Austin Bluffs Parkway. Tickets start at $34, and more information can be found at wayfindercoffee.com/events.
