Case dismissed for former Colorado Springs fraudster
The most recent case against a convicted former fraudster in Colorado Springs was dismissed Friday.
Storme Shannon Aerison, who legally changed her name from Charles James Daugherty, was booked into El Paso County jail on Jan. 20 on suspicion of forgery and crimes against an at-risk person.
Aerison carries a long history of fraud in Colorado Springs dating back to the ’90s, according to previous reports by the Gazette.
On the morning of Feb. 1, 14th Judicial District Magistrate Hilary Gurney granted the prosecution’s motion to dismiss Aerison of their most recent charges.
The arrest warrant and further details about the most recent charges were not immediately available.
Aerison, appearing in court Friday on bond, requested an order to seal their most recent arrest following the motion to dismiss the case. A motion hearing over whether to seal the case is scheduled for Feb. 16.
Attempts to contact Aerison for this story were unsuccessful.
